In order to strengthen the presence of CBRE in Eastern China, CBRE formally opened an office in Hangzhou in March 2007 as part of the further expansion of the operations of the company in China. The new office will complement the existing operations of the company in Shanghai and will enhance the ability of CBRE to provide services throughout Eastern China. The establishment of an office in Hangzhou will also result in CBRE being well positioned to further capitalize upon growing business opportunities in Hangzhou and Ningbo and will allow the company to better meet the real estate needs of domestic and international developers, investors and occupiers within the Yangtze River Delta.
Hangzhou, as one of the rapidly growing cities along the eastern coast of China, plays a very strategic role in the overall economic development of the Yangtze River Delta. The real estate sector in Hangzhou is becoming one of the most dynamic and diverse markets in China. The establishment of our office in Hangzhou represents not only a further step in terms of our long term commitment to China, but also forms part of our ongoing expansion into 2nd-tier markets and our objective to further enhance the overall operations of CBRE across Greater China. With a permanent presence in Hangzhou, we believe that we will be better placed to provide high quality and timely real estate services to our clients in both Hangzhou and Ningbo.
