Situated in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, Wuhan (East Longitude 113°41'-115°05', North Latitude 29°58'-31°22' ) is the capital of Hubei Province and has 7.8 million residents. Wuhan is an energetic city, a commercial centre of finance, industry, trade and science, with many international companies located here. Having scientific, technological and educational institutions such as the Wuhan University, the city is also an intellectual centre.

 

The city is a national communications hub and is the focus of railway, waterway, highway, airline and telecommunications connectivity within the centre of China. The distance from Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou is more or less equal. And the giant Yangtse River (Chang Jiang), the world's third longest river, and the Han River pass through the city.

 

Notwithstanding the fact that Wuhan has been a traditional manufacturing base for many years, the city also has a rapidly developing modern industrial sector, and has three national development zones, four scientific and technologic development parks, over 350 research institutes, 1470 hi-tech enterprises and numerous enterprise incubators. The strategic geographical position of Wuhan in Central China makes it a natural hub for the distribution of products throughout China, and the city also has a strong automotive sector. Wuhan is currently implementing rapid infrastructure improvements and development, resulting in an increased level of demand for real estate.

 

With a history which dates back more than 3,500 years, Wuhan has been identified by the State Council as one of the “Chinese historical and cultural cities” and has received a “best tourist city in China” award from the National Tourism Bureau. The main landmark inside the city is the Yellow Crane Tower.

 

Since 1927 Wuhan has comprised of three cities, Hankou, Hanyang, and Wuchang. Subtropical humid monsoon climate, Wuhan has distinct four seasons with an annual average temperature of 17.0 centigrade with cold and dry winters, hot and humid summers and plenty of sunshine.
