2516 Jane Street Associates Signs 10,000 RSF Lease with Titan Robotics

2516 Jane Street Associates is proud to announce a recently completed transaction of 10,000 RSF with Titan Robotics, for the company’s new headquarters location. Titan Robotics, a CMU spin-off that develops maintenance robots for work on jets, drones and other aerospace equipment, has experienced significant growth and has officially planted a flag in Pittsburgh’s South Side neighborhood. 

Stuart Lawrence, Titan’s CEO and President discusses his choice to move to 2516 Jane Street and notes, “I wanted a space that projected who we are as an advanced robotics company to our clients in aerospace and manufacturing, and 2516 Jane Street captured that in its architecture and interiors. The building ownership understood our needs as a young robotics company and gave us confidence that we would be entering into a partnership, not just a lease.” When asked about what was appealing to Titan about the South Side, Lawrence noted, “Proximity to the universities, housing, good food, hotels, the climbing gym, and other amenities. The Southside also has a character to it that is appealing.” Although many robotics companies are evolving in the Strip District, Lawrence believes that this niche industry will expand outside of “Robotics Row” and thinks it’s an inevitable progression as development takes place across the city into other communities.

Ross Bianco, majority shareholder of 2516 Jane Street, noted that there has been consistent and significant interest in the building since former anchor tenant, Helomics, vacated at the beginning of 2017. “We were constantly touring groups across various industries; from accounting firms to life sciences companies – interest has remained high, we were just looking for the perfect fit, and we definitely found the right partner in Titan.” 

With the building nearing 85% occupancy, Bianco is commencing plans for a sister building in the neighborhood that will complement 2516 Jane Street as a boutique building with the necessary infrastructure needed by life sciences and tech users. “Pittsburgh’s technology and life sciences sectors continue to thrive and we are going to strategically position ourselves to accommodate those companies looking for unique space with all of the necessary components needed to grow and operate their business in the South Side,” said Bianco. 

Tripp Merchant and Carmine DiLucente of CBRE represented 2516 Jane Street Associates in the Titan Robotics transaction and will be assisting in leasing efforts for Building 2 as well.
