CBRE announced that Cara Leonard has joined CBRE Hotels as a Senior Vice President. Based in the firm’s Beverly Hills office, she will focus on debt and structured finance in the hotel sector throughout the United States.

Ms. Leonard is an accomplished hospitality professional with nearly 20 years of experience in hotel finance across all major asset classes and markets throughout the U.S. She has played a key role in real estate capital markets transactions totaling over $4 billion, including senior and subordinate debt, and preferred and common equity.

Ms. Leonard will coordinate with existing CBRE Hotels and Debt & Structured Finance team members in arranging financing for large institutional and middle market hotels and resorts. She is joined at CBRE by Senior Production Analyst, Charlie Ryan. Ms. Leonard will report to Kevin Mallory, Global Head, CBRE Hotels and Jeff Majewski, Executive Managing Director, CBRE Capital Markets.

Ms. Leonard joins CBRE from Savills Studley where she served as Senior Managing Director for the firm’s investment banking platform. During her tenure at Savills Studley, she led the U.S.- based capital markets advisory platform for the Global Hotel Group (GHG). Previously, she was Head of Lending & Structured Finance at Lowe Enterprises Investors, where she served as a fiduciary for the company’s structured investment clients.

Ms. Leonard is a graduate of UCLA School of Law and has an undergraduate degree in applied mathematics also from UCLA. Mr. Ryan is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a focus in economics.
